 Favourite film
« Thread Started on Oct 11, 2006, 2:29am »

Hi all

Well...someone has to start... I prefer Bolo's 'old style' films best as they allowed him to show his skills at their best. So, my favourites are 10 Magnificent Killers and Writing Kung Fu (which he directed himself).

Anyone else have a favourite?

Brian

I've had a very difficult time locating Bolo's '70's films.....I've been able to get the Shootfighter movies, Chinese Goliath, and of course, Bloodsport, Bloodfight, Double Impact, Breathing Fire, Tiger Claws II and Enter the Dragon. I've been able to catch a few more of his movies on rentals in the past, but I'm finding them more and more scarce, Any one know of a good source to purchase older Kung Fu movies from?
As for my favorite? Out of the ones I've seen several times at least, I'd say 'Bloodfight'. Bolo's character, while the bad guy, was at least human for a change. The 'good guy' was well-portrayed as far from perfect (what I dislike about VanDam movies) and the fight scenes, which were many and varied, often had a humorous side to them (when Bolo fights the 7'+ tall giant in the ring, for instance).
Brian, can you give me a brief run-down on the movies you mention, since I'm unable at this time to find them? I'd like to know what I'm missing - especially what Bolo directed himself.

Hi rager

I get my old kung fu movies from

http://www.rarekungfumovies.com/

Open the site, click Browsw catalog, click List All People, click Famous People - then scroll down to Bolo's picture and click it - you will get a listing of his films (some more recent ones are not active links) - click on a title to get more info and 'buy' option.

I have most of his titles including 'The Fists, the Kicks, the Evils' and 36 Deadly Styles. I won't do any spoilers for you - have a look youself, maybe get one and let me know.

Regards
Brian
